The 5th Annual Wardens on Wheels Rally has come and gone. It was a very nice, sunny and enjoyable weekend. In total we had 18 bikes and 23 riders attend the rally. Riders from SK, MI, MN, KS, ND, MB, WI, and MO were in attendance, including 8 new riders. We successfully raised about $2,700.00 for the museum, through our pledges.
Friday night we met for supper and some of the riders got together around the campfire to socialize. Saturday had us meeting at the Game Warden Museum for a short meeting then heading out on the Heather Nadolski Memorial Poker Run. For the first time in recent memory we appeared to have an honest dealer for the poker hands. We had one scare when one of the rider fell ill and was taken to the local hospital. Fletch is well on his way to recovery and I'm sure we will see him again next year. He did express some doubt that the poker hand we dealt for him turned out to be the winning hand. We finished the day cooking Smokies (Brats) over the fire and visiting into the wee hours of a gorgeous ND night.
A paving stone, featuring the Wardens on Wheels logo, has been ordered and should be available for viewing at next year's rally. Plans have and are being made for the 6th Annual Rally which will take place the weekend of August 11th, 2012. Mark your calendars and I hope to see a large turn out next year.

5th Annual Rally update

There are a couple changes to advise everyone of this year. First of all, we are moving the Friday night supper to the Twin Oaks resort. I believe it's called the Boat House Restaurant. It is in the main Hotel building down by the water, not the Bar and Grill. The Twin Oaks is right across the road from The Quilt Inn. Supper will be at 7:00 PM CST. There is a bar downstairs for those that show up early.
For those that will be camping, we will be moving to the North Hill camping area. It's just south of the area we have used in the past. There are 7 campsites but we will be able to double up, or more, to make everyone fit. Campsites are $12.00/ night and the daily entrance is $5.00/ day.
The meeting at the Museum on Saturday will begin at 11:00 AM CST. We will be heading out on the Heather Nadolski Memorial Poker Run after the meeting and will be stopping for lunch along the way.

THIRD ANNUAL ROAD TRIP

JUNE 10th, 11th, AND 12th, 2011

HELLO, Plans are under way for our third annual Wardens on Wheels Motorcycle Run.

Friday June 10th travel day to Stockton, MO to our house 18460 S. 39 Hwy .We live 5 miles south of Stockton, on 39 highway, on the west side of road. It is a tan 2-story house with a pond on the south side. We will have a sign posted at the driveway. We have two free bedrooms, one king and the other full size. Anyone is welcome to them. First call gets them. We have an old camper that has three beds in it. One queen and two single beds. The single beds are short only about 6 feet. However, it has air conditioning and will be available to anyone who wants to sleep there. We have 2 sofas and lots of floor space. We have lots of room to pitch a tent, if that is what you want to do. If you want a hotel here in town, there is Orleans Trail Resort (417) 276-3566, Stone Creek Lodge (417) 276-1700, and Owl Heaven (417) 276-4907. We will have dinner at our house on Friday night about 6:30pm if all goes well.

Saturday June 11th we will have breakfast and then travel to Eureka Springs, AK. It is only about 100 miles to Eureka and we should get there around lunchtime. Now, for the afternoon I have mapped out a ride that is about 150 miles that takes us around to some small towns in Arkansas with a few points of interest along the way. Eureka is a real motorcycle town and there are many different rides we can make. We will end up back at Eureka and can see the town or make our own entertainment back at the motel and campground. I have found Kettle Campground (800-899-2267) across from the Country Mountain Inn (800-626-7120). I have blocked some rooms for us so when you call them tell them it is for Wardens on Wheels. You must make motel reservations by May 25. Leslie and I are really looking forward to seeing everyone and doing our best to host this event and show everyone a good time. 5th Annual Rally

The 5th Annual Wardens on Wheels rally will take place on August 12 - 14, 2011 at Lake Metigoshe State Park, ND and The Game Warden Museum located in The International Peace Gardens. We are hoping for a record turn out this year. As in years past, we will meet on Friday night for supper. Details will be worked out at a later date. Saturday will include the meeting at The Game Warden Museum, a poker run, supper and socializing. Last year we cooked smokies over the fire and finished off with Smores! A block of rooms have been booked at The Quilt Inn (701) 263-6500. People wishing to stay there will need to call and reserve their room. We will also have the North Star tent camping area for our use again as well. Alternative lodging options can be found in The Peace Gardens Web site, http://www.peacegarden.com/

There had been some discussion last year about getting together as a group and attending Sturgis. Due to the difficulty in determining who would be attending and arranging accomodations, this will not be happening. Riders wishing to attend Sturgis before our rally will be on their own. If there are some riders that do attend Sturgis and plan on continuing to the Wardens on Wheels rally, Bill Schaller has offered his place in Killdeer, ND as a half way stop over point on Thursday night. Riders could then continue on to Lake Metigoshe as a group. Contact me for more info if you are interested in this.

The snow and cold weather has settled in here finally. Bike has been tucked away for a couple months. Attached video shot by Paul Hopkins will hopefully make everyone feel warmer - even though it was shot on a cool damp day. Shot in Manitoba on the Poker Run.

4th Annual Rally

August 13 - 15th the 4th Annual Wardens on Wheels Rally took place. We had a total of 21 bikes with 26 riders present this year. The above photo has the 20 bikes and 24 riders that attended the Game Warden Museum on Saturday. The weather was less than spectacular, again, but I think everyone still had a wonderful time. It was great to see old friends and meet new ones that share our common bond for our resources and motorcycles. Through the pledges that riders collected we were able to raise $3,000.00 to donate to the Game Warden Museum. That brings our total raised in 4 years to $9,000.00! Congratulations and thanks to the riders! Friday we met at a local steak house and after we socialized at Lake Metogoshe State Park campgound. Saturday we held our meeting at the museum and then headed out on the Heather Nadolski Memorial Poker Run. We toured into Manitoba before returning to the campground. Funny how the "dealer" ended up with the best hand, of 4 aces no less! Smokies were cooked over a campfire and we laughed and visited into the wee hours. Sunday saw some of the riders strike off for farther adventures while duty called others back home.
The 5th Annual Wardens on Wheels Rally is scheduled for August 12 - 14th 2011. Tentative plans are for riders to meet prior to the rally at a little gathering known as Sturgis. I'm sure some of you have heard of it. Updates will be posted here as more info becomes available. Looking forward to seeing everyone next year. Keep the rubber on the road and your right hand cranked!

4th Annual Wardens on Wheels Rally - Update

Hi Guys.

Here is an update with the latest info. We have a supper reservation at the Birchwood Steak house for Friday August 13th @ 7:00 PM CST. The tenting area has been booked and Larry, the park manager, has waived the camping fees again. You will have to pay the daily entry fee. Be sure to thank Larry if he comes to visit us . Saturday we can meet at 11:00 at the museum. That will give us time for a short meeting and organize the poker run. The poker run will be up into Manitoba this year. Remember - Passports! Don't forget to round up some prizes for the poker run.

After the rally there will likely be a couple of different groups heading out on extended rides. Don is leading riders down to the Black Hills area for a few days. Heather Nadolski

Brandon - Heather Leigh Nadolski, 33, of Brandon, passed away Saturday May 8, 2010, at home with her family by her side following a two and a half year courageous battle with cancer.

Heather was born Feb. 19, 1977, in Marshfield, the daughter of Sue(Bill) Dahl of Lake Geneva.

Heather graduated from Spencer High School in 1995. She then attended Mid-State Technical College in Stevens Point where she earned her associated degree in office administration in 1997.

Heather met her soul mate, Benjamin, working summers in high school at Noah's Ark in Wisconsin Dells. They married Oct. 16, 1999, in Portage. They have two sons, Nicholas, age 8, and Andrew, age 5.

As a family they enjoyed camping trips, biking, hiking, fishing, snowmobiling and ATVs. Heather and Ben were members of the Columbia County Corvette Club and enjoyed attending club events and camaraderie with their Vette friends. Heather enjoyed riding with Ben on motorcycle trips with the Berlin Chapter Blue Knights and Wardens on Wheels motorcycle clubs. She was very active with her son's school activities and local cub scouts. She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan with an impressive collection of Packer memorabilia. She also enjoyed scrap booking and gardening.

Heather is survived by:her husband Benjamin of Brandon; two sons: Nicholas and Andrew of Brandon; her mother: Sue (Bill) Dahl of Lake Geneva; one sister: Heidi (Shane) Boe and their son Jordan of Spencer, Wis.; one brother: Jason Wickerham of Grand forks, N.D.; her grandparents: Gilbert and Mae Wickerham of Cameron, Wis.; grandfather: Marvin Trachte of Marshfield; grandmother: Janet Trachte of Cudahay, Wis.; special cousin: Katie (Mearl) Kehrmeyer of Manawa, Wis.; step-sister: Michelle (Scott) Schultz and their children Whitney, Dominick, Makenzie of Fountain, Col.; stepbrother: Kurt (Wendelyn) Dahl and their children Zander, Savanah, Madison of Watertown; step-brother: Jason Dahl of Coloma; step-brother: Craig Dahl and his son Chase of Neilsville, Wis; grandparents: Erlin and Irene Dahl of Granton, Wis,; mother- and father-in-law: Betty and Henry Nadolski of Portage; brother- and sister-in-law: Paul and Jenny Nadolski and their children Mathew, Jacob, and David of Pardeville; special grandmother: Mabel Pfuehler of Portage.

Also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Heather was preceded in death by a special grandfather, Oscar Pfuehler, and a great-grandmother, Florence Mayer of Shawano.

A funeral mass for Heather will be held Wednesday, May 12 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waupun with Father Michael Sturm officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Tuesday, May 11 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Werner-Harmsen funeral Home in Waupun and on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

A memorial in Heathers name has been established at the Wells Fargo bank in Waupun.

2nd Annual Missouri Chapter Rally

The Second Annual Warden on Wheels (Missouri Chapter) Museum benefit ride will be June 11^th, 12^th & 13^th, 2010. This year’s theme: The Ozarks Rivers Run!

We had a great time last year and we hope this year is even better. This is open to any current or retired Conservation Officer and their spouse. Please invite anyone you know, wardens from other states and provinces are welcome.

Here is a brief schedule:

Friday June 11 – 7:00 pm Fish Fry, Gregg Hitchings Residence, Belleview, M0. Iron County in SE Missouri.

Saturday June 12 – Outdoor cooked breakfast, Ride: Johnson Shut – ins State Park, Shawnee Creek and the Jack’s Fork, lunch at Eminence/Alley Springs then we’ll ride to Big Springs National Park. Dinner in Van Buren (great Bar –B –Q spot)

Sunday June 13 – Break camp, say good bye and head home.

4th Annual Wardens on Wheels Rally

The 4th Annual rally is scheduled to take place the weekend of August 13 to 15th. The rally will take place at The North American Game Warden Museum located in the International Peace Gardens. The Peace Gardens sit on the US/Canadian border, south of Brandon, MB, north-east of Minot, ND.

We will make plans to meet for supper on Friday. Saturday we will be meeting at the museum at noon. After our meeting and lunch we will be heading out on the poker run. Supper on Saturday will be decided upon by the group. Last year it consisted of smokies cooked over an open fire and was lots of fun.
A tenting area will be reserved at Lake Metogoshe State Park, ND for those that will be camping. The campground also serves as home for the poker run and evening entertainment. A block of rooms have been reserved at the nearby Quilt Inn, (701) 263-6500. Alternate accommodations are listed in the Peace Gardens web site. http://www.peacegarden.com/

Riders will require a valid passport. The poker run is scheduled to travel into Canada before returning to the campground. Riders are also asked to each donate a prize for the poker run. A pledge form is being developed that we can use to raise funds for the planned expansion and upkeep of the museum. To date we have raised approximately $6,000.00 in our first three years.
